Electric locomotive Re 4/4 II of the Swiss Federal Railways. The Re 4/4 II are universal locomotives and are therefore used for operation in front of passenger and freight trains. Heavy trains are usually transported in double traction together with a Re 6/6. The Re 4/4 II locomotives with a total of 277 delivered machines are the largest railcar series of the SBB that was commissioned in the years 1964 to 1985. All locomotives are equipped with a multiple steering system.
