Consisting of a 3-axle pilot series coach type Bage with 4 doors, a 3-axle seating coach type Bage, a 3-axle seating coach type Bagtre and a 2-axle seating coach type Baage.

At the end of the 1950s, the German State Railway owned a large number of different 2- and 3-axle coaches of the “Länder” design with wooden coach bodies. As part of a reconstruction program, the sturdy chassis of the coaches were standardised to a uniform length and the worn wooden coach bodies were replaced with a new welded body. In a pilot series, coaches were first built with 4 doors, but in series production, only 2 doors were used. Later, the coaches were joined by baggage and mail wagons. In total, around 3,000 coaches were built or reconstructed.
