Meanwhile, the Austrian Federal Railways uses the company‘s own hydroelectric power plants to generate 100% of the traction current required to operate the trains. As part of the so-called “ÖBB Sustainability Campaign”, a Taurus locomotive was stuck in a green advertising design. The side surfaces of the locomotives
are decorated with adhesive decals that show green landscapes. The locomotive features logos from the partner institutions Greenpeace and the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2018.
