Can I use a digital locomotive on an analogue model railway layout or does the decoder get destroyed ?Locomotives that have digital decoders easily can be used on analogue railway layouts without risk of damage. When I switched from an old digital system (eg Lokmaus 1) to a newer digital system, some of my older locomotives did not work anymore (eg ÖBB Rh 310).The problem is that the decoders with boards of older locomotives (e.g., those of the Rh310) only can decode “controls with 14 speed levels”. Was the connection wrong or the system not even connected ?Probably the most common mistake when connecting your Z21 system is the LAN connection. In most cases, the Z21® will be connected to the WAN socket (blue) instead of the LAN socket (yellow) on the router. As a result, the Z21 system is encapsulated in a separate network and therefore cannot be found by the Maintenance Tool.
