If you are looking for information about our Z21 control system, you can find it on www.z21.eu/FAQs. General information How do I find my model?By entering the complete operational number of your model in the request field of the ROCO service page, you can, in most cases, already find the desired model on your own ... Control Units & Technical Information What differences do the model railway control units from Roco offer? The Z21 system from Roco not only makes it easy for you to find the optimal digital entry into model railway controlling but through its different versions, it is also perfect for model railway experts. Each Z21 central unit features at least two X-Bus, one R-Bus, one B-Bus and one LAN socket. All systems can be used for AC and DC track layouts, as they can send both a DCC and an MM signal. To what to you need to pay attention after a router reset?after a router reset, the IP address as well as the SSID of the router are reset to factory settings. How can I change my IP address from dynamic to static? If no router is used, the Z21 system can also be connected directly to a PC via a LAN cable. However, you must note that your PC uses a dynamic IP address setting by default and is waiting to be assigned an address by the "Administrator". However, the Z21 system has no "Administrator function". Instructions and Spareparts Where can I find spare parts sheets or operating, decoder and CV instructions? You can find the operating instructions and the spare parts sheet on our website directly with the item in the section "Downloads". The corresponding spare parts can also be found there under "Spare parts". MULTIMAUS Devices How to transfer the library of the locomotives ?The transfer of the so-called locomotive library from one Multimaus to another is quite simple... A new loco is always quickly tried out with the MULTIMAUSAll Roco locomotives equipped with a decoder have the factory address 3. What to do when you have forgotten the parental control code or misplaced it?If you have forgotten the parental control code, only a reset of the MULTIMAUS will help. Can the MULTIMAUS read CV values?Basically, the MULTIMAUS CV values can not only be programmed, but also read out. Up to which CV value can the MULTIMAUS program and read out? When the firmware version 1.02 was used, the MULTIMAUS only could program and read out up to the CV value of 255. Update of the MULTIMAUSIf the MULTIMAUS needs to be brought up to date, the firmware update can be carried out in the following ways... Can I connect more MULTIMÄUSE to my central control or amplifier than the number of sockets might suggest? All sockets labeled with "Slave" or "X-Bus" can be redistributed or extended via the adapter 10758. Camera locomotives How does the installation of the camera locomotive work?Possible applications The camera image of the camera can be read out either directly via I-host mode or indirectly via client mode. What is Host Mode?Direct = Host Mode: Host mode is the direct connection to your camera locomotive. In this mode, the camera image can be read out, but the locomotive can not be controlled. What is client mode ?Indirect = Client Mode: Client mode is the indirect connection to your camera. Can the camera locomotives also be operated in analogue mode ?Of course, you can also operate all camera locomotives in analogue mode. How does the camera ICE work with direct control? The Model 51248 is the only available model with a "Direct Control" feature. How do you reset your camera locomotive ?Detailed instructions on how to reset your camera locomotive can be downloaded from the link "Client and Host Mode". What software do I need for my camera locomotive? You can only receive the image of the camera locomotives via programs which are specially developed for the camera locomotives. Error analysis - What can you do?Camera locomotive - test steps What is important when you use other routers or home network routers ?Other routers or home network routers may have different IP address settings than the pre-programmed TP-Link router, depending on the setting or manufacturer. What do I have to consider and why? Each router has a DHCP function, which can also be seen as a "mayor function". How can I read out the IP address and subnet mask?To read out the IP address and subnet mask, you can use a PC that is connected to the router. Pressing the Windows key will take you to the Windows search mode. By searching C-M-D via the input request, you should easily find the Windows CMD tool. What settings and adaptation do you need to make?If the IP address that is used by the router does not match the IP address of the Z21 system, either the IP address of the Z21 system can be manually adjusted via the Maintenance Tool or the IP address setting of the router. Decoder operation Can I use a digital locomotive on an analogue model railway layout or does the decoder get destroyed ?Locomotives that have digital decoders easily can be used on analogue railway layouts without risk of damage. When I switched from an old digital system (eg Lokmaus 1) to a newer digital system, some of my older locomotives did not work anymore (eg ÖBB Rh 310).The problem is that the decoders with boards of older locomotives (e.g., those of the Rh310) only can decode “controls with 14 speed levels”. Was the connection wrong or the system not even connected ?Probably the most common mistake when connecting your Z21 system is the LAN connection. In most cases, the Z21® will be connected to the WAN socket (blue) instead of the LAN socket (yellow) on the router. As a result, the Z21 system is encapsulated in a separate network and therefore cannot be found by the Maintenance Tool. |
