Privacy Policy of Modelleisenbahn GmbH (hereinafter "ROCO"):

Here at ROCO we respect and protect the privacy of all our customers and visitors to our site (hereinafter the “Customer") and adhere strictly to the rules of the applicable data protection laws. Personal information is only collected on this website where necessary. In no case will this information be sold. The following statement gives an overview of how we ensure this protection and what kind of data ROCO collects from website users and/or customers of authorised ROCO distribution partners, and the purposes for which it is collected. This privacy policy applies to all ROCO websites and all products and services offered by ROCO.

1. Collection and processing of personal data

Generally, it is not necessary for you to provide personal data to use our website. In order for us to actually provide our services, however, we may require your personal information. All your personal information, including your e-mail address, your name, address and possibly your birth date are only collected by us if you provide them voluntarily and willingly, for example to execute a contract, place an order, for contests, to send information or a survey and registering for the newsletters. Visitors can of course choose not to provide information and to use the site anonymously, but must be aware that some features will then be restricted under certain circumstances.

ROCO respects and appreciates the importance of responsible use of information collected from visitors and customers. Without your express consent, ROCO does not use to this data to contact you and inform you about new products, services and offers. Your collected data we will not be passed on without legal reason or your consent (except to employees of ROCO, our group companies and our dealers or other partners who provide services on our behalf), or used for purposes other than those stated.

2. Collection and storage of usage data

When accessing the site access various items of data are stored (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, name of the file, etc.). No personal evaluations are made. For statistical purposes, data is evaluated anonymously. This data will be kept strictly confidential and not disclosed outside the ROCO system or made available to other third parties, unless this is be required by applicable law.

On some ROCO websites, cookies may be used. We use cookies to personalise content from websites and to implement password-protected access to data and to enable an analysis of website use.

4. Scope of data collection

Data that you transmit to us will be stored, processed and used by us for purposes of the contract/order processing, processing your requests, in the context of competitions and for the registration of the newsletter. In addition, we process and use your data for purposes of assistance, sending of product information and for market research purposes.
If we perform any of the actions described below or other transactions, we will want to collect and store your personal data and will be asking in each case for your express consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. The link to the revocation form can be found under point 8.:
  • Any declaration of intent on a contractual or similar basis;
  • Running of a lottery, a promotion, survey or other features of the site;
  • Announcements of changes or improvements to products or services that could affect visitors and customers;

Insofar as customers / visitors decide to join our mailing list, they will receive periodic e-mails in which they are informed about company news, product updates, related products, service information, etc. The Customer / visitor can always choose to no longer be on this mailing list and to receive no further e-mails from ROCO, by communicating this in writing to the contact address at the bottom of each email or using the revocation formula available under point 8..
If you have registered for our newsletter with your e-mail address, your e-mail address will also be used for advertising purposes beyond the execution of the contract, until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. Google Analytics uses "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer to help analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to a Google server and stored there. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for website operators, and to provide other services related to Internet use and use of the website. Google may also pass this information on to third parties in so far as this is required by law or if third parties process the data on Google's behalf. If you go to a site of our website that contains a social plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. 5. Storage and protection of personal data

We have taken a number of security measures to ensure the security of your personal information when you enter an order, submit, or access your personal information. We take appropriate data collection, and storage and processing methods and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of personal information, usernames, passwords, transactions, information and other data that is stored on our website. Sensitive and private data exchange between the ROCO websites and visitors via SSL-secured communication channels is encrypted and provided with digital signatures.

ROCO operates in many countries around the world. So that we can provide our customers with uniform services wherever they may be, we maintain our homepages and websites throughout the world. If you transmit personal information to ROCO, you agree that this information can be transmitted, stored and processed across national boundaries in each of the countries where ROCO and its affiliates maintain offices.

6. Disclosure of Personal Data

All personal data collected by ROCO is used according to the privacy policy applicable for the purpose of contract/order processing and for processing your request. Your data will not be transferred to third parties without your express consent, unless this is necessary to provide the service or to execute the contract.

We also take internal company privacy very seriously. Our employees and the service providers appointed by us are sworn to secrecy and to comply with data protection regulations.
If we call on external service providers as part of the data processing, we have so far ensured that these are chosen in compliance with relevant legal requirements and are also obliged to comply with legal guidelines of the data protection laws.
Your data will not be sold to outside parties, rented or otherwise communicated. This does not include: Trusted partners who assist us in operating the site, in the context of business or other services, which is of course to ensure that they are bound to secrecy.

A transfer to the subsidiaries of ROCO, or other third parties only insofar as these recipients have undertaken to comply with applicable data protection regulations against ROCO. During the processing of your order or request, we entrust partially external service providers, who are in any case contractually obliged to comply with data protection rules.
The respective ROCO sales subsidiary works with trusted partners.

7. Right of Information

You have the right to free information regarding your stored personal data, its origin and destination and the purpose of storage, at any time without notice for any reason. The provision of data occurs in a common form. The provision of information is limited by operational and business confidentiality. For this, please use the contact address indicated in item 13. To obtain information you must be able to identify yourself as this person (to be given the information on), or prove that you are entitled to receive information about a third person.

8. Right to ammendment / right of withdrawal

You have the right to rectify data at any time, if it is incorrect.
You always have the right to wholly or partly revoke your consent to storage and use of personal data. In such cases, we will delete or block your data for further processing and use. Should a cancellation be offset by storage laws or regulations or a deletion be associated with disproportionate effort, we will block such data for further use and no longer refer to it.

9. Links to other websites

The website may contain hyperlinks to other websites that do not belong to the ROCO Association. If you visit these sites, ROCO cannot accept more responsibility for the confidentiality of the data. Provision of information from the Internet is partly unencrypted. Consequently, an unauthorised notice by third parties cannot be entirely excluded.

10. Roco's commitment to protecting the privacy of children

Protecting the privacy of children is important to us. Therefore we fundamentally do not capture or maintain any data about children that to our knowledge are under 14 years of age without first obtaining verifiable parental consent. We also require just as many personal details as are absolutely necessary for children to participate in activities. On request, guardians can view the stored data on their child or have it deleted.

Due to the rapid development of the Internet, it may be necessary that we amend our Privacy Policy from time to time. Please always take note of the most current version of our data protection declaration.
